I accept all major credit cards and HSA cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, etc).
I am in-network with the following insurance companies: Aetna, BlueCross and BlueShield (BCBS), Carelon Behavioral Health, and Cigna and Evernorth. I am currently waitlisted to be credentialed with United Healthcare, Oscar Health, Oxford, and Optum, which may take until mid-July or mid-August (2026) to resolve.
I am an out-of-network provider with other insurance companies, with the exception of Medicaid. I have opted out of being a Medicaid provider at this time.
If you are an individual client and have out-of-network benefits with your insurance plan, you may be able to receive partial reimbursement from your insurance company by filing out-of-network claims. If you’d like to do this, please verify your coverage with your insurance company and be sure to talk with me about it at your intake session. I’m happy to provide superbills to make your claim filing easier.
For couples therapy, I do not bill insurance nor do I provide Superbills due to this service not being reimburseable by insurance. I believe it is most ethical to work with couples in an equal manner on behalf of your relationship, as the primary treatment goal. Doing so gives your relationship the best chance of treatment success and also gives you both equal access to your records. Any provider who is willing to bill insurance to do couples work is required to treat a mental health diagnosis for an individual patient and this means the treatment plan is required to revolve around resolving that individual’s diagnosis as the primary concern—and only gives that individual “designated patient” the right to access the records. If that provider is actually providing relationship therapy as a primary goal on behalf of both parties and is billing insurance under an alternate premise (an individual’s diagnosis), this is insurance fraud.
You will be asked to store a credit card on file. Automatic billing is done at midnight following your session. For private pay clients and those filing out-of-network claims, you will be billed at the full rate. For clients using in-network insurance, your copay will be billed.
I’ll ask how you found me and what you are hoping to get from therapy. Then, I’ll share some things you can expect in doing therapy with me, and answer any other questions you may have. If by the end of this, it seems we are a good fit, the next step will be completing intake paperwork.
Following your consultation appointment, I will send you a link to complete digital intake paperwork. I also ask for a credit card to be held on file. After you have completed your intake paperwork, please email me to schedule your intake session.
We will meet to get to know each other, go over your intake paperwork, and begin developing goals for our work together. Within the first two sessions, I like to go over family history, ask you about any previous therapy experience you’ve had. I also want to give time for anything urgent or pressing that you want to talk about.
If you are seeing me for couple/relational therapy, the 2nd and 3rd session with me will be one-on-ones. This will be a time for family history and any questions I might still have about your intake paperwork.
I usually start my clients on a weekly schedule at the same day/time every week. This is a pace that tends to be beneficial for most people to make the progress they want to be seeing. Depending on your needs and goals for therapy, we may adjust the frequency of visits after an initial period of trying it out.
This is hard to predict, as everyone has their own unique goals–and varying willingness to make changes, despite their best intentions. I have had clients with specific and actionable goals complete them within 3 to 6 months. Other clients, who want to change long-standing patterns of thoughts, emotions, or behavior may find themselves doing a minimum of a year or upwards of 4 years. Sometimes, clients who “graduate” from therapy find it beneficial to return for a regular check-in every 4-6 months.
Mon-Tue 9:30-6:00 and Thu-Fri 9:30-3:00. I do not see clients Wednesdays, weekends, or major holidays.
Depending on my availability, I may be able to schedule an additional session between your regularly scheduled appointments. Because I am just one person working in my business, it is not feasible for me to provide crisis support services. If you are in crisis, please text or call 988 (the national suicide lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room. For clients who are experiencing chronic suicidality, I recommend in-person therapy at a larger group practice.
All sessions are telehealth. For private pay and out-of-network clients, we will meet using Simple Practice. For in-network insurance clients, we will meet using Headway. Both Simple Practice and Headway are secure online platforms that provide HIPAA compliant video conferencing.
Unfortunately, I am unable to do therapy with clients outside of North Carolina. You must reside in North Carolina and physically be in North Carolina at the time of all of your sessions. I hold a North Carolina license to practice and this is the rule of the licensing board. This license is not transferrable to other states.
